In February 2014, the Joint Oversight Committee on the Maryland Health Benefit Exchange was convened by the Senate President and the House Speaker.
The Oversight Committee will focus first on the current functioning of the Maryland Health Benefit Exchange and what issues have been resolved. Further, the Oversight Committee will keep the General Assembly apprised on the status of how enrollments are progressing. Beginning in April 2014, the Oversight Committee also will look into what went wrong with the launch of the Maryland Health Benefit Exchange in October 2013.
