In July 2015, the Task Force on Family Caregiving and Long-Term Supports was formed (Chapter 155, Acts of 2015).

For family caregivers, the Task Force was to identify those policies, programs, and resources currently available to them, and also look for additional innovative and creative means to support them as they provide in-home care and assistance to elderly adults. The Task Force received testimony about the needs of family caregivers on issues such as the designation of caregivers; their training; respite care; medical leave policies; and delegation of tasks to nonmedical aides. An inventory of resources for family caregivers was to be compiled. Finally, the Task Force evaluated and recommended what the State can do to develop, train, and retain a qualified and responsive workforce of in-home caregivers.

Authorization for the Task Force ended October 30, 2016.
