In Nov. 2008, Food Policy Task Force was organized.

FORENSIC SERVICES DIVISION
Under Police Dept., renamed Forensic Science and Evidence Management Division.

HEALTH COMMITTEE
Under City Council, Health Committee originated as Health and Environment Committee, which had formed by 1992. It reorganized as Public Safety and Health Committee, and reformed as Health Committee in 2010. Discontinued in Dec. 2016.

Mayor formed Heroin Treatment and Prevention Task Force in Oct. 2014. Task Force's four work groups focused on neighborhood engagement, practice standards, data collection, and access to care.

Created in July 2009 in response to burning death of a dog named Phoenix, Mayor's Anti-Animal Abuse Task Force was to make recommendations on ending animal cruelty and dogfighting in Baltimore.

In its final report of July 30, 2010, Task Force recommended creation of a commission to carry on its work. In September 2010, the Mayor's Anti-Animal Abuse Advisory Commission was established.

MAYOR'S COUNCIL ON MINORITY & WOMEN-OWNED BUSINESS ENTERPRISES
Robert L. Wallace, Chair

Established by Mayor on July 18, 2012, Advisory Council on Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprises reviewed and evaluated practices of Office of Minority and Women-Owned Business Development, and made recommendations to Mayor and Office for improvements.

Appointed by Mayor, twenty-three members served on Council.

By Jan. 15, 2013, Council was to report its findings to Mayor.

On April 3, 2015, Working Group submitted its report to Mayor.

NEW AMERICANS TASK FORCE

Mayor established New Americans Task Force in 2013 to develop a plan to retain and attract immigrants to Baltimore.

City Council staff: Carl Stokes

In Jan. 2011, Task Force on Baltimore City Public/Private Development Financing Efforts was convened by City Council member Carl Stokes. Task Force charge was to review Baltimore's process for awarding and then monitoring tax increment financing (fits) and payment in lieu of taxes (pilots). Task Force also was to consider whether these "tifs" and "pilots" were being committed at expense of neighborhood priorities.

Report submitted Oct. 2011.

URBAN AFFAIRS & AGING COMMITTEE
Under City Council, Urban Affairs and Aging Committee began by 1994 as Urban and Governmental Affairs Committee. By 2005, it was renamed Urban and Aging Committee. It merged with Housing and Community Development Committee to form Housing and Urban Affairs Committee in Dec. 2016.
