ORIGIN & FUNCTIONS

In Queen Anne's County, administrative duties are carried out by two departments: Administrative Services, and Community Affairs.

DEPARTMENT OF ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES

Appointed by the Board of County Commissioners, the County Administrator heads the Department of Administrative Services, and oversees the agencies of County government (County Code, sec. 4-9).

Under the Department are three offices: Budget, Finance, and Information Technology; Economic Development; and Human Resources.

OFFICE OF BUDGET, FINANCE, & INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

OFFICE OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
Economic Development originated as the Department of Economic Development, and reformed as the Department of Economic Development, Agriculture, and Tourism. On March 1, 2011, it reorganized as Economic Development and Tourism, and early in 2015 reformed under its current name when Tourism was made a separate office under the Department of Community Affairs.

DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AFFAIRS

The Department of Community Affairs oversees three offices: Public Information, QAC-TV, and Tourism.

QAC-TV
QAC-TV is the public television station for Queen Anne's County.
