BANK HOLIDAYS

[photo, Fourth of July bunting, Mount Vernon Place, Baltimore, Maryland] In Maryland, when a mandatory bank holiday differs from the corresponding federal holiday, a banking institution shall be closed on one holiday and may be closed on both. When there is no corresponding federal holiday for one of the following mandatory bank holidays, a banking institution may open or close on that day (Code Financial Institutions Article, sec. 5-705).
